How to Check Your Website's
Statistics
If your hosting account includes Live Statistic Checking,
you can access this website to see who visits your site,
what pages they view, who refers them to your site and more.
LiveStats is far more than
just another log analyzer. It analyzes web site traffic in
real-time and generates "LiveStats" reports in an easy to
use web interface. Over and above the standard traffic
reports, LiveStats includes many specialty reports that can
be queried live, 24/7.
With LiveStats tracking your
web sites you'll know:
- How many users visit your web site
every day, week, or month.
- Who are they.
- Where they come from.
- What pages they enter on, exit from
and visit longest.
- How today is shaping up.
- Who's on right now.
- What part of your site is most
popular.
- What search engines people are using
to find your site.
- What keywords people use to find your
site.
To access stats server, go to:
http://stats.yourdomain.com
(replace "yourdomain" with your actual domain name).
Enter your server id, username and password fields. We will
email those to you on request.
The first page you land on will have a
"Who's On" report - showing all activity on your site at
this current moment.
LiveStats can generate over 50 reports you
can use to help you target your marketing effort. Most of
these reports have zoom views that show more detailed
information. These reports give you insight into the
behavior of customers and potential customers such as what
keywords they used to reach your site, which search engines
or referrers referred them, and how long they stayed.
You can generate a report for any day, week, month, or
user-specified date range (up to 93 days) available in the
database for this Virtual Server.
Reports have from two to eight tables or graphs—such as a 3D
Stacked Graph, 2D pie chart, or trend analysis table—you can
use to customize your reports.
After you have customized and generated a report, you can
have LiveStats format it for printing and then print it from
your web browser.
HOW TO
On the left is a tool bar to view
different reports. At the top left is a calendar. After you
select your report type, use the calendar to narrow in on a
particular day, week or month for that report.
Choosing a date range
You
can generate reports for any period kept in your site's
database. You can choose a day, week, or month to report on,
or specify a date range by selecting a start and end date.
The LiveStats screen includes an interactive calendar that
lets you select the date or date range for a report. The
calendar displays days with statistics in a darker grey, and
the selected days in yellow. Days before the start of the
database and after the end are a lighter grey, and are not
selectable.
To view the previous month, click the minus (-) sign to the
right of the calendar. To view the next month, click the
plus (+) sign.
To select a Day:
Click a day from the calendar.
To select a Week:
1. Point to the right arrow beside the week you want.
If there are statistics available for the corresponding
week, the arrow changes to a red circle.
2. Click the red circle to select the week.
To select a Month:
Click the down arrow to the left of the month name.
To select a Date Range:
1. Click Range at the top left corner of the calendar.
LiveStats prompts you to select the start day.
2. Click the first day of the date range. LiveStats prompts
you to select the end day.
3. Scroll forward if necessary to display the month with the
end date.
4. Click the last day of the date range.
Generating a report
To

Customizing a report
The customization of reports allows you to choose how the
information included in a report is displayed - what graphs,
what tables, and whether or not there will be help.

To customize a report:
1. Select 'Customize' from the top menu of the report. This
will open the report customization interface.

2. Drag and drop the report elements that you want from the
left column into the right column.
3. Put the elements in the order that you would like to see
them displayed.
4. If at any time you want to start over, select either
'Erase Layout' to start with an empty right column, or 'Load
Defaults' to revert to the LiveStats default layout.

5. Once you are satisfied with the customization, click
'Save' to return to the report interface and see your
report.
The customization is performed on a per report basis so that
you can have different layouts for each different report.
Printing a report
A non-menued version of each report is available for easy
printing.
To print a report
1. Select the report and time range that you want to print.
2. Customize the report so that it includes the elements
that you feel are necessary.
3. Select the 'Print' option from the top menu of the
report. This will open the printable report.

4. You must tell your web browser to print the report.
Filtering a report
The elements displayed in many reports can be filtered based
on keywords. This allows on pages within a certain
directory, or referrals from a specific domain to be shown
quickly without any special configuration.
To filter a report
1. Select the report and time range that you want to filter.
2. Enter your filter keywords in the 'Filter Report by
Keywords' box and press 'Search'.

3. Only elements that match the keywords will be included in
the report.
Filters do not affect the information stored in the
database. They are used only to display the one filtered
report. All the values in all the report elements are based
on the results of the filters.
