While working with companies like Environmental Defense, 20/20 Vision, Recycled Products Cooperative and others, Bold Print Design Studio has developed practices that make us an ideal option for the non-profit community.

It starts with a strong passion that both Susan and Scott have for protecting the natural environment and encouraging social responsibility. We are your target audience. We buy your products, we read your reports. We've even worked in the non-profit sector. We truly know how to best present your materials.

Having worked for several non profits we understand limited budgets. We are able to keep costs down by having a low overhead. We work from an office in the lower level of our house (also eliminating the need to drive to work everyday), and we pass the savings on to you.

In addition, we offer a 15% discount for all non-profits and environmental organizations. That's off any design project, all the time.

Another benefit of working with us is the free use of our stock photography collection. We have thousands of relevant and timely environmentally and socially focused images that can take your pieces to the next level.

We also understand the fast pace of non-profits. There is no other sector that truly needs it NOW.  Hey, you can’t push back a critical vote on the floor of the Senate. We understand how crucial your information can be to the voters. You can depend on us to get your materials to you on time.

Bold Print Design Studio enjoys offering alternative choices on papers, inks and other advertising ideas that avoid the use of paper altogether. We work with great printers that are dedicated to keeping costs down while providing alternatives for those that want to print responsibly.

We enjoy having the opportunity to help the environmental cause in our own way, doing what we do best. We enjoy working on projects that are used for a good cause, and we greatly enjoy working with people with the like minded values of protecting our environment.

Susan, an early girl scout in south-western Virginia grew up surrounded by mountains offering opportunities to hike, camp, and otherwise enjoy the fresh clean air of valley life. From an early age she realized the importance of protecting what she enjoyed, and dedicated her childhood life to such, volunteering with local environmental organizations and donating her time as the President of her high school environmental club. One of their biggest achievements was convincing the school to switch from disposable Styrofoam lunch trays to reusable plastic ones. As Susan changed her focus to her given talent of art, she kept a hand in environmental concerns and chooses life practices with less impact on the environment.
Scott, growing up in Northern Virginia during the sprawl boom, saw favorite trees and playing fields lose out to strip malls and pavement far too many times. He realized his life passion at the 1990 20 year anniversary of Earth Day in Washington DC. Since then he has dedicated his life to environmental causes. Out of school Scott interned with The Nature Conservancy and The American Ocean Campaign before landing a job at the Environmental Defense Fund (now Environmental Defense). As an activist in Washington DC, Scott learned the policy side of small to large nonprofit work. A yearning for the outdoors prompted the move to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. There, Scott is President of the Carolina Estuarine Reserve Foundation which is a non-profit group dedicated to helping the North Carolina Coastal Reserve manage the ten sites along the coast of NC and help to build awareness of their presence and the environmental hazards associated with our region.
